THE TWO ULTIMATE FRAGRANCES | CHRISTINA AGUILERA & THE KILLER QEEN

MY BABIES

I feel like we're all on our own journey to find the perfect fragrance to match our personality.
You buy new bottles each time a magazine tester flares your nostrils, or you get a random one for Christmas, bought by your aunt who happened to come across it during sale and thought it might be nice.
Doesn't matter how you got it, no fragrance ever seems to be the one.

If you're anything like me, dropping by at the perfume counter to test every new celebrity scent and carrying the testers around in your pocket all day in order to find the perfect mix between vanilla and flowers, than you might find this interesting.

I was on the hunt for a subtle perfume. Something so sweet and alluring, men would turn their head to sniff out the irresistible whiff that just walked by. Something unique that would make people ask you what it is. Something you can wear to bed, something that is to you what Chanel No' 5 was to Marilyn Monroe. Something truly extraordinary and special.
Only, all fragrances out there seem to smell exactly the same. They smell fresh, and strong. Compare it to a toilet freshener. Cheap, and forever on sale.

You don't wanna smell cheap, like you're forever on sale.

I did my fair share of buying bottles and never finishing them, my fair share of testing my friends perfume, and those at the counter. After smelling everything there is, and sometimes cringing my nose in disgust, I eventually found my first truly perfect perfume.

Killer Queen. Own the throne.

''Announced as a playful, sophisticated, powerful, edgy and delicious fragrance.
Top notes include wild berries, dark plum, and bergamot accords.''

I am going to be honest with you. I have no fucking clue what that means. Dark plum? And what the hell is bergamot anyway? All I know is that it's most definitely playful, sophisticated and powerful. Three excellent qualities any woman should have. And should smell like.
I am wearing it now as I am writing this. One sniff at my wrist and I close my eyes in ecstasy. I could sniff myself all day. And that's not something I normally say. I find this fragrance the more evening suited one of the two, so I wear it mostly in the evening.

Killer Queen is available as 15, 30, 50 and 100 ML Eau de Parfum.
The next fragrance I want to talk to you darlings about is one that has been under my nose all this time. I am the kind of person who will not be satisfied with just one perfect perfume. I can't be wearing the same scent day to day, night to night. It would become dull and unnoticed by everyone, including myself because of the lack of change.

Dull and unnoticeable are two very unattractive traits.

I like to switch things up. Not only my style, makeup and hair. Scent as well. But I spend an considerable amount of time finding just the one I have now, and I've smelt everything out there. How could I possibly find anything new, unless anything new comes out?
Well, turns out, I didn't need anything new. It was anything but new. Actually, it came out in 2007. I was 12.
And I remember the day I got it, like yesterday.

Christina Aguilera Signature.

''A bouquet of peonies and jasmine flowers enriched with creamy vanilla is sometimes all you need to wear.''
I couldn't agree more. It seems that Christina had exactly the same mind set as me while developing this perfume. Creating something so sexy, sweet, and alluring, that just like Chanel No' 5, it's sometimes all you need to wear.

I came across it during shopping last week, and for the heck of it I just spritched some onto my wrist. I closed my eyes in delight when memories from the past came flooding back, through my nostrils. I remember I had just started drawing and watching anime, and I had just started high school. This fragrance carries so many memories, it's special. Plus, this scent is so sexy yet subtle, every woman should own it.
This bottle of sophistication, is more suited for during the day.

Do I have a favourite? I think I do. Christina Aguilera's Signature takes the crown just by a little. You can smell the vanilla extract a bit clearer, a scent that I have come to adore. I look for hints of vanilla in everything. I even spray some The Body Shop Vanilla Bodymist onto my clothes. I can't help it.

Even the ice cream tastes better.
Don't fight me on this.

You'll lose.

Carré.
